I am now clipping my german short hair nails but his nails were neglected.I know I need to do them e

weeks but do I need to cut them shorter or will just doing them every two weeks be good enough? I know not to cut too short as it will cut to the quick.

You may want to have a groomer or your vet do them and get them short and then start from there are do them.

Clipping them every two weeks works great and it is what I do with mine at home.

My older male weims are long on hos back feet but he stands sort of funny on the back of hos foot and even will all the clipping they seem to stay sort of long.

Just keep working on the nails I seem to be able to clip a little more each time and get them just a little shorter. Get a jar of the blood stop powder and keep in on hand just in case you hit the quick. It clots blood really fast and is not very expensive. You can get it a Petsmart or other pet store.

Cut them down to just before the quick.

Cutting the nails every two weeks isn't necessary unless they grow that fast and need it.
