I have very thick shoulder length hair, it looks okay when it's up but can look a real mess when down. I've had my hair short before and most people like it and its easy to deal with just wash and go. The only thing is my husband likes it long!

I would say just style it differently. Dont keep it too long cause its too much to manage but at the same time dont keep it too short cause your husband wont like it. Even though its not his hair, I would still take what he says into consideration. Maybe just try different hair styles.

get clip in hair extensions.. you can chop and change then. keep your hair short but whenver u feel like it put the extensions in

then its the best of both

i wouldnt suggesy cutting. i cut my hair and now i want my long hair back. go to a black hairstylist ask for some tips on how to make your hair look good when its down.
